Logo Designer Neck Ties From Countess Mara
Many of you might be acquainted with popular designers of mens fashion and accessories for instance Pierre Cardin, Christian Dior, and Yves Saint Laurent, who during the 1970’s and 1980’s conspicuously displayed their logos on the tip of their designer men's ties. It was implemented to bring focus on the designer brand and also give a special look and feel to the tie. But are you aware that logo neck ties was the brainchild of a woman by the name of Countess Mara?
The CM Logo arrives
Born as Lucille Mara de Vescovi in Rome in 1893, Countess Mara went on to be the single most well known tie creative designers of her period. She made numerous novel marketing and advertising alternatives that skyrocketed her ties to worldwide recognition by 1938. The first thing she did was alter her name. Despite the fact that Lucilla herself was certainly no countess, she dubbed her ties Countess Mara and included her trademarked brand and the CM logo design with an open crown to supply them snob appeal. It worked well.
As part of their book "Fit To Be Tied: Classic Neckties from the 40s and Early Fifties", writers Rod Dyer and Ron Spark observe that Countess Mara developed "exclusive ties", manufacturing only fifteen dozen of every theme. She plainly displayed her distinctive CM emblem by including it within the imprinted tie design, and demanded a big cost. This method definitely appealed to the style snobs. Mara's trademarked neckties seemed to be such an instantaneous success that several other tie producers cloned her enterprize model and in some cases engaged artists to replicate the beauty found in her ties.
Logo design Ties With Novelty Motifs
Countess Mara dearly loved plant life and animals despite the fact that she included fantastical motifs besides. Subjects include things like blossoms, ferns, insects, butterflies, dragonflies, geese, camels, deer, foxes, owls, zebras, tigers, horses, fish, sea urchins, to identify only a few. Her novelty neckties usually are overflowing with designs as well as uncommon subjects such as astrological signs, Egyptian hieroglyphs, safety pins, guns, playing cards, key rings and ripped love letters. Lady Godiva, mermaids, magicians, the Devil have also graced the more abnormal vintage Countess Mara designer men's neck ties even though it was easy enough to find more typical and less dangerous subject material like hunting vistas and golfing themes.
Countess Mara could possibly very well have been the first one to add novelty themes to ties. She's famously cited as having mentioned, "Tell a man you like his tie and you will see his personality unfold like a flower". Her unusually crafted styles gave individuals every reason to notice and be noticed. Favorable responses would probably have been a familiar occurrence and most certainly appreciated by the owner of the necktie!
Present day Countess Mara ties
In due course the CM company logo with a likeness of a crown over it ceased to be screen printed on to and integrated within the design, alternatively finding its ultimate resting place close to the tip of the necktie. Most all of the later Countess Mara neckties usually are machine stitched with thread complementary to the colour tones of the necktie.
Some people consider Countess Mara neck ties unattractive because of the plainly exposed creative logo and will not wear the neckties for that reason. Don't worry: ties created in the 1990s and today no longer show the custom logo design although they don't include exciting novelty designs either.
