The Kestrel Talon - A Sweet Ride Indeed
Kestrel know a thing or two about building bikes. Like a good beer, this one is strong and smooth. And it comes in at a good price too. The bike is well known for its good power transfer and acceleration. Importantly it remains stable in fast descents. It's a strong bike. Built to last. You'll still be getting compliments years after you bought it.. By some standards the Kestrel Talon bike is somewhat heavy, but in fact this helps its stability. It has a core strength, but at the same time a kind of suppleness.
Although not a serious racer by any means, the Kestrel Talon climbs and descends well. Riders also report feeling less fatigued after serious climbs. Rides like a dream and climbs like a squirrel up a tree.
And remember, there are terrific variations - the Kestrel Talon Shimano 105, the Kestrel Talon SL. Looking at the Talon objectively, it’s difficult to find fault with its performance, components, or durability. The frame may at times feel stiff, but it cushions well on the tough roads. And you'll be pleased it does. The bike is fast and responsive. A sweet ride, indeed.
