Do you want to be a fixie? That’s someone who rides a fixed gear bike in case you didn’t know. It’s getting to be a whole sub-culture!
The main reason that the Surly Steamroller is favored by many cyclists is because it is made to high standards, durable, and offers a smooth fast ride. And for the money you will pay, it is going to be hard not to conclude you’re getting one of the sales of the century. We’d put our necks on the block and say that it's just about as good an urban trawler as you will find. It handles well and has a springy quality when you ride it. You'll find yourself flying up hill and down dale (as my English Grandma used to say).
Many people have complained about the seat, and in all truth we’ve got to say that it’s not the most comfortable! But hey, if you're not happy with the Surly seat, change it for another. You’ll find that the Surly Steamroller is very flexible and versatile. You can set up in different ways: a cross, a commuter, a rain bike, or as a track bike. It's very easy on the eye too.
