Why Does Your Mirror Look Cloudy?

I have met a number of people who are having trouble with cleaning their mirrors that have become cloudy and today I want to try and help you in that regard.

If you own a full length mirror and is tarnished and cloudy well take comfort in the fact that you are not alone. I used to own one myself; I can bet that you neighbour has owned one too. I tried everything I could to clean it until I got rid of it only to discover the best cleaning methods months after I had gotten rid of it.

Now if you are planning to keep the mirror how do you find a way to deal with its problem? How do you go about cleaning it? As a oversized decorative mirrors expert I can share a few tips on how to go about doing this. You can use these suggestions for a variety of mirrors including large, oversized, compact, framed, unframed including full length tri fold mirror.

You can simply clean them with some water. Warm or hot water would do the job just fine. Do not add anything to the water i.e. it must be pure. If you own plexy glass then you can be sure this will work pretty well.

Vinegar and a newspaper can work well too. I mean it could be that someone once tried to clean it with something that was oily.

You can try to use some spray cleaners like windex. Spray cleaners work well generally well for some decorating bathroom mirrors and not for others. This is why you should not worry too much if this option does not work for you – just move on to the next option.

If all this does not work, then there are probably other reasons why it is so cloudy. For one if could be that the silver on the back of the mirror is peeling off. You can simply fix this by having it re-silvered especially if you really can’t get rid of it.
